How to Get a Talent Center Act for FREE!Thank you for your interest in
the new funding opportunity which may enable you to get up to 100% funding
of certain shows . . .
Here is the basic information about the opportunity and how it works:
1) The funder in question does not, in general, fund the arts nor is
there significant interest in funding K-12 schools. However, the shows
listed below, by virtue of the information they convey in their
presentations, do help the organization achieve its mission and are thus
eligible to receive funding.
2) While each state organization has slightly different rules and
procedures for funding, there are some patterns. In general, you can
expect to be offered a 50% funding. But if you play the application game
correctly, you can fairly easily build the funding to 100% of presentation
fee.
3) We help you with the application, providing you with about 80% of
the application already prepared and keyboarded onto a disk. You need only
pull it from the disk into your favorite word processor and add the
information specific to your organization and the overall project.
4) If you like, we will help you choose the best program(s) for your
situation. Once we have agreed on program, time, date, cost, etc., we will
send you a contract, the complete application forms from your state
organization, and copies of our prepared application (both print-outs and
disks). [Note: we include in your contract a contingency clause giving you
alternate escape options should your funding fail to materialize.]
5) You also receive plenty of helpful advice about how to apply, what
to say and not to say, what to emphasize, etc. You get it in writing; you
are also encouraged to call us for advice.
6) Once the grant is done and in, start planning the event.
The place to begin: call Brian Eastman at the Talent Center and discuss
which of the shows will fit best in your general programming. There is no
obligation. Just a good opportunity to get some excellent shows for your
community . . . for nothing . . . or next to nothing.
